Book Reading

You may have heard about the following line,
Readers are Leaders.
And you also listen from your book-loving friends that ' Reading books will change your thinking capabilities and increase your mental level.' that, " Books are your true friends." etc. All these claims are true. but, what if I tell you that, " Reading books will harm your creativity. that, " Books can brainwash you." Yes, these claims are also true.

Now, you may be thinking that if both claims are true, then how is it possible?

So, here I am to present a few tips for you if you are a book-lover or intend to start reading in the future.

Before I start explaining my tips regarding "How not to read books", I want to clarify that these tips are valid if you fall under the category of those who read books to gain knowledge with the hope that everything written in the books is as true as the word of God.

There is no denying that books are written after extensive researches and through many references, but it is also a fact that based on those researches and references, the author concludes certain happenings. This is very much true of history books and Information books. So, it is possible that the author may have missed the others' reference level. That he concluded with his reference level, but that is not necessary that it is valid for all situations.

So, based on these arguments, I want to discuss three points on " How not to Read Books."

First and foremost, whenever you encounter a book which may be interesting for you, always read it with doubt. By doubt, I mean having a critical mind. Always doubt that the author may have misrepresented the conclusion and try to listen to your own voice. What do you say about the situation and how do you conclude it? This will definitely add to your authentic knowledge and also boost your thinking level. So much so that, you may also become an author.

Secondly, do not confine yourself to one kind of books, rather try to explore the world by reading different genres of books such as philosophy, religious, historical and novels. this may seem strange to you but it will widen your information scope. it will also make you able to speak up everywhere you go. An interesting thing about reading different genres is that you will understand your genre more effectively. So, the point to be noted here is that you should not read a single genre of books rather be a jack of all trades and master of one.

Lastly, do not read books passively, by this I mean do not read books just for increasing your knowledge or sometimes vocabulary, rather read books and observe the lines written in your real life, and try to find the linkage of those theories in your personal life. Try to find their application in life.

Note: Should you have any different views, feel free to comment, criticize or suggest.
